DUI/DWI Penalties in Missouri
First-time offenders face the following possible penalties:
- Up to six months in jail
- Two years probation
- Driver's license suspension (30 days hard followed by 60 days with restricted privileges)
- Up to $500 fine
- Ignition interlock device
A refusal to submit to a breathalyzer or blood or urine test carries a one year driver's license suspension. The first 90 days of which are a hard suspension after which you can apply for restricted driving privileges through a hardship license.
Administrative Hearing Defense
If you do not request an administrative hearing within 15 days of your arrest, your license will be suspended by the Department of Revenue for a length equal to whatever suspension you would face for your criminal charges. At that hearing, we can help you oppose your administrative suspension.
